About Joint Immobilization Treatment in Mumbai
Joint immobilization
Immobilization is a process of having a joint or a bone in place with a splint, cast, or brace. This is performed to prevent an injured area from moving while it improves.
Splint:
A device utilized to take backup or immobilization of a limb is known as a splint.
Slings:
Slings are used to support the arm after a fracture. They are normally utilized along with a cast or splint but are sometimes used alone as a means of restraint.
Braces:
Braces are used to backup, synchronize, or hold a body part in the right position. Braces are sometimes utilized after a surgical process is performed on an arm or a leg. They may also be used when a damage has occurred.
Either a custom-made or a ready-made brace can be utilized. The off-the-shelf braces are made in a variety of forms and sizes. They generally have Velcro straps that make the brace easy to flex and to put on and take off. Both braces and splints offer less support and protection than a cast and may not be a treatment option in all cases.
