Ahmedabad is the largest city in Gujrat. It’s located in western India on the banks of the River Sabarmati. It not only served as political capital but it was also the economical capital of the region from its establishment. The earliest settlement can be recorded around the 12th century under the rule of Chalukya dynasty. On March 1411, Ahmed Shah I of Gujarat Sultanate had announced Ahmedabad as a new capital. Under the rule of sultanate which is from 1411 to 1511 the same city prospered followed by the decline from 1511 to 1572 as the capital was transferred to Champaner.
